However, you must consider the price. I haven't had any problems with it so far, and i don't see myself having problems in the future. These speakers might not be the greatest on the market. These speakers sound pretty clean, and have good bass.
Overall--these sound much better than stock (though lose some bass) and were easy to install. The bass is tight, but not strong enough for me. These speakers were bought to replace my stock speakers in a 2007 Mazda 3, 5 door hatchback. Stock sounded pretty good already but I did a comparison after installing each speaker and it was amazing how the mids and highs came through much clearer. I had already planned on getting a sub so it wasn't a total surprise.
I am very happy with the purchase and would buy again. Pioneer G6842R are a direct fit but the not in the 'A' series that I was wanted. I installed these speakers in the rear doors of my 2004 Tacoma Double Cab to match the Pioneer A1302C installed in the front. The install was easy with only a need to trim the factory plastic mount to allow for the larger magnet and cage. Sound quality is clear and crisp and much more range than the OEM speakers.
Now I have incredible audio in my car. Even with the stock cassette/radio, the mids and highs are much clearer, with a small improvement in bass. Note that the bass won't go that low simply due to the relatively small size of these speakers (compared to 6x9's or 6" round speakers) so on some rap songs it seems to be lacking. Installation was easy with the included harnesses.
Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend these. These speakers really do need a much better source though, that's why I upgraded to a Pioneer DEH-2100IB receiver shortly after installing them. These speakers fit right in with no modifications. I got these speakers to replace the stock speakers in my 98 Mercury Mystique. Sound quality is much better than before.
Crystal clear highs and mids and very present bass.
They perform VERY well with my JVC KV-AVX-710 DVD receiver.Except for the fit in my front doors (not spec'd for Toyota Tacoma), these are 4 of 5 stars. Slick as butter. Sound quality is great, and they have no problems BOOMING out the low frequencies.I replaced the two rear speakers with these, without any fit problems. Not a big deal from my point of view.These speakers make CDs sound their best, movies have life, Sirius is a joy to listen to, and Bluetooth connected MP3 players sound perfect.Overall, this was a very worthwhile upgrade from my factory speakers. I bought two pairs of these to install in my 2002 Toyota Tacoma Extended Cab truck. These are "Bitchin' speakers" that seem to get better with time. I also replaced the two factory door speakers with these, but due to their shape, I had to slightly modify the plastic mounting bracket that the OEM speakers were mounted in.
